When searching for the best parfum for men, it is important to take into account your own personal style. Some guys seem to be able to pull off certain fragrances while that same scent will not blend well with another guy’s chemistry or style. For this list, I have chosen a wide variety of perfumes for men, that I feel will match well with just about anybody’s style. At least one of these colognes, could be a great choice for just about anyone. I have chosen scents that smell great, last long, and draw complements from those around you. As always, I have linked each perfume out to its page on Fragrancenet.com, wear it can be purchased and more info can be found on it.
Jean Paul Gaultier– An ever popular fragrance for men and for good reason. Le Male is a warm and invigorating scent that will draw complements and won’t fade after a few hours. Notes include: warm fresh mint, lavender, orange blossom and woods.
The Dreamer by Versace– Like the name suggests, this one is for the guy who has a poetic soul. Dreamer is a unique and casual cologne for men that smells wonderful. Fresh and masculine. Notes include: wild flowers, linen, amber and tobacco. Current 1.6 oz price: $30.99
L’Eau D’Issey by Issey Miyake– A citrus/spicy entry from this Japanese designer. Miyake has been a popular choice for men since the mid-1990s. I usually wear this one during the Spring and Summer months, as it doesn’t wilt in the heat. Notes include: citrus and spice combined with lower notes of musk, amber and woods. My Review
Polo Red– A newer fragrance from Ralph Lauren but one which is quickly gaining esteem. It is a confident scent that is a great choice as an ‘every day’ wear. Warm, fresh, versatile. Notes include: grapefruit, italian lemon, cranberry, saffron, sage. Current 4.2 oz price: $76.99
Rochas Man Eau de Toilette, Woody Gourmand, 3.3 fl. oz.
Rochas Man is a great choice for those who are on a tight budget. Though it is inexpensive, Rochas Man brings a lot to the table. It is a rich and sweet scent, that gets women to come closer and ask what it is you’re wearing. Notes include: coffee and lavender, with low notes of amber and sandalwood. Read my review
Kouros Body by YSL– One of my favorite scents to wear in the winter. Kouros Body is versatile fragrance that has a warm spice to it (almost like a candy) that blends with woody aromatics to create a manly smell. Notes include: incense and eucalyptus combine with aromatic woods and benzoin. Current 3.3 oz price: $40.99. Read my review here!
Fahrenheit by Christian Dior– An absolutely classic fragrance from Dior that dates back to the 1980s. Fahrenheit is a very unique fragrance and also a complete head-turner. The opening isn’t great but once it settles on the skin, watch out! Expensive but a great cologne for guys. Notes include: honeysuckle, sandalwood and balsam. Current 1.7 oz price: $64.99
1 Million by Paco Rabanne– This cologne comes in a really cool gold ingot shaped bottle but it’s really what is inside that is so important. 1 Million is always a best seller and that’s because it enjoys such a universal appeal. This is a good choice for guys who may not know what fragrance they want but want something that will catch some attention. Notes include: Mint, Grapefruit, Rose, Patchouli, Amber, Cinnamon, White woods, Blond leather, Blood orange, Spice notes. 1 Million Review
L’Instant by Guerlain– There is nothing unisex about L’Instant, it is a subtly rugged fragrance for guys who like to smell manly instead of ambiguous. Notes include: Bergamot, Lemon, Pepper, Hibiscus Seeds, Badian Crystals, Patchouli, Indian Jasmine Petal, Elemi, Lapsang Tea, Bitter Cocoa Bean, Mysore Sandalwood. Current 2.5 oz price: $51.99
Versace Eros– Eros is the mythical God of Love and this fragrance carries that name well. It is what I guess could be termed a ‘romantic’ fragrance, as it seems to elicit that kind of mood. Eros is a very strong and heavy fragrance, so try to limit the sprays to one or two max. I really enjoy this scent. Notes include: mint, green apple, tonka bean, madagascar vanilla, vetiver.
