One of the most popular cologne segments is the aquatics. These men’s fragrances often include citrus notes to go along with sea or other marine ingredients, though, they can sometimes also be woodsy based instead of citrus. These are generally best used in spring and summer and can withstand the heat and humidity that accompanies that part of the year. There are plenty of decent options within the frame of aquatics for men but I wanted to create a list of some of the best scents in my opinion. In the end, I chose 9 guys’ colognes that I consider to be the best smelling and top performing aquatics.
Giorgio Armani Acqua Di Gio Profumo 75ml (2.5 oz)
Acqua Di Gio Profumo is even better than the original ADG in my opinion. It’s somehow darker, more complex, and a deeper aquatic than Acqua Di Gio. My Profumo Full Review
Nautica Voyage By Nautica For Men. Eau De Toilette Spray 3.4 oz
Still one of the best inexpensive options to go with in the cologne market. It’s bright citrus scent just screams summer and also give very good performance throughout the day. Nautica Voyage Cologne Review
FENDI Fan Di Fendi Acqua Eau de Toilette Spray, 3.4 Ounce
I’ve actually been wearing the sample I got of this cologne a lot after I reviewed it here on the site. I’m almost out of the spray vial but I’ve really come to enjoy the unique citrus note that it possesses. My Fan di Fendi Acqua Review
Bvlgari Aqua By Bvlgari For Men. Eau De Toilette Spray 3.4 Ounces
A rather unique entry on the list with its use of the seaweed note to go along with orange and other woodsy notes. Aqua is classy, masculine, and a trip to the shore all in one bottle. My Full Aqva Review
Creed Creed Virgin Island Water Millesime Spray for Men, 4 Ounce
This entry is on the upper tier of designers in terms of quality and price. Creed VIW is kind of a unisex fragrance that contains a rich coconut to go along with rum, lime, and sugar. Fantastic scent all around. Virgin Island Water Review
Nautica Blue Eau De Toilette Spray for Men, 3.4 fluid ounce
Another Nautica addition to the list. This one is extremely affordable and sort of reminds me of Polo Sport in a lot of ways (which could be another addition to this list). Blue isn’t as good as Nautica Voyage and it’s got mediocre performance at times but it’s so cheap that it might be worth a look. Nautica Blue Review
Tommy Bahama St Barts Cologne Eau de Cologne Spray for Men, 3.4 Ounce
This Tommy Bahama scent is sort of like a poor man’s version of Virgin Island Water. It’s got a strong lime kick, which turns into a smooth and creamy finish with salty undertones as if you were sitting on the beach. Set Sail St. Barts Review
Bvlgari Aqva Marine Pour Homme by Bvlgari 3.4oz 100ml EDT Spray
The flanker fragrance to Bvlgari Aqva and while it’s very similar this one feels lighter and has an added salt water note. This is built for summertime.
Polo Blue by Ralph Lauren for Men, Eau De Toilette Natural Spray, 4.2 Ounce
A very good scent from Polo. Blue is fresh, smooth, and crisp with melon and cucumber notes. My full Polo Blue Review
There you have it, 9 excellent options for guys who want to delve into the marine/aquatic space. Each of these scents provides something different while maintaining that underlying similarity which makes these types of colognes so interesting to wear.
