One of the most popular fragrances for men on the market, always seems to be Curve by Liz Claiborne. Yes, this cologne always sits among the list of best sellers and has developed quite a following for itself since its 1996 release. Why? Is it because it is the most complex scent out there? No, it’s a rather simple fragrance that blends its notes nicely. Is it the most masculine? Again, no. Quite simply, Curve is just a great smelling cologne which is available at a very affordable price. In this post, I want to take a bit of a closer look at Curve and examine what makes it so good.

I’m not too familiar with the entire line of Liz Claiborne fragrances for men. I did once own a bottle of Claiborne Sport, which I received as a gift, and actually found it rather bland. However, Curve was in another league entirely. The first time I smelled it, I was immediately impressed and had to know what the name of this wonderful scent was. That is the type of impression that Curve has on many people. It is a clean and fresh scent which is light and airy.
Taking a look at the notes that make up a bottle of Curve, it is remarkably simple. Greens, a bit of spice courtesy of the pepper, and mahogany for the woodsy aroma. This simple list of ingredients is enough to deliver the adventurous and outdoorsy scent that Claiborne was going for. Note that, when I say outdoorsy, I don’t mean that it is a really heavy or ‘manly’ smell, just that the ingredients are very natural in their application (it doesn’t smell chemical).
The only real downside to Curve is that it is so known. This isn’t a cologne that will be unique to your own personal style. It does stand out on it’s own, in that, many people can distinguish it almost immediately. If that is not a problem for you, then, I can say with confidence that Curve is a great everyday cologne for guys of all ages that will draw complements to the men who wear it.
