Bloom Nettare di Fiori by Gucci

The Bloom series from Gucci is still ongoing and doesn’t seem to be slowing down with its flanker releases. In 2018, the Italian brand released Nettare di Fiori, under the Bloom banner. I grabbed a sample of this along with the rest of the Bloom perfumes, in order to give them all full reviews. How does Nettare Smell? How long does it last? Is it worth a try?

My Full Review

Tuberose and ginger. That is the main attraction here, upon my first spraying of Nettare di Fiori. A little bit of a pink rose, as well. If you’re in the market for a tuberose heavy Gucci Bloom flanker, this should immediately be in the running.

That’s what you’re going to experience for the opening. Then, as Nettare develops more, the jasmine and honeysuckle (Rangoon creeper) start to make an appearance. Unfortunately, that rose note seems to go away entirely on my skin.

The tuberose has a greenish aroma to it. While the supporting jasmine adds that white floral touch. There’s a cold freshness to the entire composition and a very slight creaminess, but nothing that becomes too extreme (though, that develops more over time).

You can definitely tell that this is a Bloom perfume, very similar to the original in a lot of ways, but enough distinction to stand out somewhat on its own.

That initial ginger fresh spice moves away and the tuberose and jasmine fully take over in their partnership. Beneath that is the nice sweetness of Rangoon creeper and patchouli. That’s pretty much it for the rest of the way. Very floral, particularly white floral, light sweetness and a patchouli note.

Sillage, Longevity, and Versatilty

Sillage wise, this one is a lighter moderate perfume, on my skin. It never really came on too strong for me, but what fairly decent for the first few hours. After that, Nettare di Fiori is much more of a skin scent.

The longevity here is okay, just not that great. I get 6.5-7 hours of wear in total and probably just over three hours wear it’s got its strength going. Not a complete waste of time, by any means, but not a super performer either.

Seasonally, this is a spring and summer wear. What’s good about the light sillage, is that if you like white floral scents, this one is low key enough to be worn on a daily basis in an office or school. It can go casual to more formal.

Nettare di Fiori isn’t a nightlife or date night kind of perfume, so I wouldn’t expect an all-around scent to wear whenever. But, it is a versatile fragrance.

Overall Impressions of Nettare di Fiori

Overall, do I like Bloom Nettare di Fiori. It’s fine, but it doesn’t blow me away. It’s an above average fragrance, in terms of its smell, and a nice tuberose wear. Beyond that, it doesn’t truly stand out and isn’t the best Bloom release.

There isn’t a part of the wear that I dislike. I enjoy the ginger/rose/tuberose start, even if I wished that it lasted longer. The jasmine and tuberose is a familiar smell, not bad, just well tread territory with a million other perfumes.

The performance is pretty average and probably should be better based on what you’re going to pay for a bottle of this stuff.  All in all, it’s a nice Gucci perfume, that will have some appeal for tuberose lovers but maybe not much beyond that.

I don’t even see this listed on Gucci’s website anymore, so if you want it, you’d better grab a bottle.

Gucci Bloom Gocce di Fiori by Gucci

Gocce di Fiori is one of the flanker scents, that have been spun off from the Gucci Bloom name. This one was released in 2019 and didn’t seem to get very much attention. However, I think it is one of the better Bloom scents, and so I wanted to do a full review here on the site. How does it smell? When should it be worn?

My Full Review

Gocce di Fiori isn’t too complicated of a fragrance. Actually, it’s pretty darn similar to the original Gucci Bloom, while being a fresh and sheer version of the formulation.

The main difference in terms of the composition, is that the jasmine feels more prevalent here, and there is a honeysuckle note lightly floating around in the mix.

It’s like a stripped down version of Bloom, but one that will serve its purposes as a lighter wear for the spring and summer months.

Upon the first spray of Gocce di Fiori, I pick up a good deal of the jasmine, but blended with the honeysuckle and Rangoon creeper.

However, as it dries down this one becomes more of a jasmine and tuberose fragrance. I still pick up the other two notes, but they are just slight impressions of how they were during the opening act.

Sillage, Longevity, and Versatility

Don’t expect a projection bomb, it’s a sheer fragrance, but it isn’t weak. You’re going to get a breezy and light perfume, though, one that you will easily notice throughout the wear. I really like when Gocce would randomly rise off of my skin

The longevity is actually good, just not amazing. It will hang around for 7 hours on me, but doesn’t seem to go beyond 8. Very range bound. Though, it gives you a nice performance for what it is.

Seasonally, this one is great for the spring and summer months. Gocce is fresh and light, easily holding up to the humidity and doesn’t have the same creaminess that other white florals of this type can have.

Mostly, it’s a pretty daytime wear. Not really sexy or a nightlife beast. Very safe to wear on a daily basis to work or school or whatever else. Pretty ubiquitous in the spring or summer.

Overall Impressions of Gocce di Fiori

Overall, do I like this perfume? I do. It’s a very nice take on the white floral style of perfume. Yes, if you’ve had Gucci Bloom, you already know basically what this smells like.

I like the jasmine note being amped up, the honeysuckle inclusion, and the tuberose that comes through well in the dry down. It’s fresh and easy to wear when it gets warmer outside.

Do you need it, if you’ve got the original Bloom? Probably not. If that’s the case, you might consider one of the other flankers, that have more differences. Just standing on its own, Gocce di Fiori is a solid perfume, and quite likeable.

Rush by Gucci

Apart from the massive amount of Bond No. 9 samples, I’ve accumulated recently, I have also gotten a hold of a few others that I wanted to review. One of which is a classic scent released by Gucci in 1999, Gucci Rush. This ladies’ fragrance has gotten quite a nice reputation over the years, but is it justified? Please continue below for my full wear thoughts about this scent.

Full Wear Review

I’m am doing a review of the classic formula of Rush. I haven’t tried the newer bottles, but it may have been reformulated. I’m not sure, but just a head’s up if you’re considering this scent.

The opening of Gucci Rush is a smooth mix of floral notes and what smells like peach (though, I’m not sure this is even an ingredient since I cannot find it listed). I would say the floral aspect at the start is more dominated by the rose note and the gardenia.

Add to that is the familiar scent of patchouli, which is well blended in Rush, and never goes overboard in my mind.

Most of what you’re going to get from this one will from the peach, patchouli, and gardenia. It’s floral/fruity with a bit of a dirty side to it.

This scent just sort of grabs your attention from the get go and feels so perfectly smooth as a floral based scent and not overly ‘green’ or like you’re walking through a garden.

It has a certain energy and seductive quality to it, which I suppose is where the Rush moniker came from.

At it’s heart, Rush is a sweet perfume but once again it stays grounded by the vetiver and patchouli notes which give it an earthy/woodsy quality. Some spicy kick floating in the background, but nothing too intense.

Sillage, Longevity, and Versatility

Projection wise, I found Gucci Rush to be strong but it never really struck me as monstrous. It can be loud, for sure, but it isn’t insane by any stretch of the imagination.

For the longevity, maybe it’s just my skin, but I only got about 6-7 hours of wear out of Rush. That’s not terrible, but it isn’t an all-star in that regard. I think other folks do get more time with this, but for me that’s what it maxed out to.

Now, Gucci Rush is one of those scents that specializes in the nightlife. Think of this stuff as more of a club/bar/romantic kind of wear. If you apply lightly, you might be able to wear it no problem casually, but don’t go nuts with the sprays.

Rush is the type of perfume that I would love to smell on a woman during a cold winter night at a bar. On the dance floor or just hanging around, it’s pretty sexy stuff. Climate wise, I would try to keep it to autumn and winter, it wouldn’t be all that great in the heat.

Overall Impressions of Gucci Rush

Overall, do I think Gucci Rush is worth a buy? Yes, it’s a classic at this point. It’s a very good scent with nice performance, that is built for a specific purpose…to rule the night. It does a great job at that.

The aroma is gives off is well-balanced, interesting, and charming. It has a unique vibe that is upbeat, warm, and always full of energy. There is a reason why this is a highly rated fragrance from the early 2000s time period.

That being said, it never was one for everyone. Now, that this has been re-released, I don’t know how much of the original survives. So, it’s probably a try before you buy perfume.
