8 Best Smelling Marc Jacobs Perfumes

Marc Jacobs line of fragrances have many options that are always in the mix of the top sellers. These perfumes aren’t cheap but aren’t breathtakingly expensive either, so you can find some gems to fit your style at a moderate price point.

For this, list I have selected eight fragrances by Marc Jacobs that can be considered the best. Where, I have done a full review on the perfume, I have linked to it. I will also update this, as needed, over the ensuing months or years.

What are the Best Marc Jacobs Perfumes for Women?

Best Seller

Marc Jacobs Daisy by Marc Jacobs 3.4oz 100ml EDT SprayThe most popular fragrance by Marc Jacobs. A feminine and playful floral perfume with notes of violet, vanilla, grapefruit, gardenia, jasmine, and musk.

Very sweet and elegant. It opens up with a water floral bouquet, consisting mainly of the violet, but joined by gardenia and jasmine. You also get that bit of citrus a the top, supplied by the grapefruit note, which adds a nice touch away from just being a straight floral fragrance.

The dry down gets musky/powdery and the perfume has good performance, in the 7 hour range, on the skin. It’s a best-seller for a reason, it’s quite lovely. Daisy Full Review

Fresh Fruity Floral

Marc Jacobs Daisy Women’s Eau de Parfum Spray, Dream Forever, 1.7 OunceDaisy Dream brought you wisteria and jasmine, but Dream Forever, amps up the fruity notes, that flank those florals. The result is a more attractive and balanced aroma versus the original.

Dream Forever kicks off with a pairing of blackberry and pear, mostly. The blackberry strikes the nose as quite sour at first, but I think the sharpness of the grapefruit, is behind most of that. Nevertheless, this scent settles down and becomes a great fruity/floral perfume.

Dream Forever gets sweeter, with a fresh finish, and a light almost aquatic aroma. The sillage isn’t overly powerful, but Dream Forever hangs around quite nicely.

Best Decadence Scent

Marc Jacobs Decadence Eau So Decadent- This is the best of the Decadence line for me, even if none of the others are all that great, in my opinion. However, Eau So Decadent is a very nice daily wear sort of fragrance.

You get a fruity top blend, which aids the overall floral aroma. Blackcurrant and raspberry, give this perfume a somewhat sour berry smell. Meanwhile, pear is the real star of the show. The floral notes are lily of the valley, magnolia, and jasmine.

In the end, this fragrance is made up of: lily, magnolia, pear, and amber. It’s very versatile, a bit green, has enough sweetness to keep it interesting, with a solid performance. Eau So Decadent Full Review

Classic Marc Jacobs

Marc Jacobs Dot Eau De Parfum Spray for Women- More fruity than floral and built for the spring and summer months. Dot is soft, vibrant, and youthful. Dot features notes of red berries, dragon fruit, jasmine, honeysuckle, coconut, and more.

It isn’t a powerhouse perfume, but will give you 6-7 hours of solid wear, and can be worn in a variety of situations. Dot is clean and has a juicy and somewhat tropical aroma. It opens up with a punch of the red berries, dragon fruit, and delicious coconut water.

The fruits, definitely dominate the composition, but the flowers do build strength as it dries down. I personally detect jasmine and the honeysuckle, as the two most prominent floral notes.  Dot Full Review

Best Summer Perfume

Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh Eau de Toilette Spray-125ml/4.25 oz.A fruitier take on the original Daisy with raspberry and pear notes. Much more intense and brighter than the original as well. You get fresh and sweet fruits, that are less juicy, and more tempered by the floral notes, such as violet.

This one is a simple and straightforward wear, with more earthy and floral elements emerging after the opening. The sillage isn’t huge, but Eau So Fresh, is a fantastic option for daily wear during the warmer months of the year.

Under the Radar Fragrance

Marc Jacobs Honey Eau de Parfum Spray for WomenSoft blend of really sweet fruits and honey. It’s not a totally loud or in your face perfume, rather, one that is subtle and good for the teenage/college set.

When one of the main notes is fruit punch, you should know what to expect, especially when you add in orange and the title ingredient. As it dries down, further, you do get more of a creamy/musky scent, which is clean and does take on a honey smelling aroma. Fresh and dynamic.

Top Spicy Floral Scent

Marc Jacobs Lola By Marc Jacobs for Women Eau De Parfum Spray- A rose based floral with some notes such as pear and grapefruit to give it an air of fruit. Pink pepper provides some spice and warmth. Mainly, you get a good amount of rose, with some peony, and an underlying blend of sweetness and pink pepper.

An underrated scent, that is very simple in its presentation. It might be discontinued at this point, but you can still find bottles.

So, there you have the full list, as of now. Each of these fragrances does represent a different style and will provide an option for just about anybody who is looking for a Marc Jacobs scent to wear.

C’est Parfait

Marc Jacobs Perfect Women 3.3 oz EDP Spray– Perfect is a newer addition to the line and currently one of the most popular from Marc Jacobs. It’s also a very nice fragrance.

It kicks off with a mix of rhubarb and strawberries, giving it an initial fruitiness that pairs well with the underlying greenish aroma.

That is a sweet and tart beginning to the perfume, which will then give way to daffodil and almond milk. The sweet tart will fade away and daffodil, musk, cashmeran will dominate this one.

Clean, floral, and woody. A very balanced aroma on the whole. The performance is solid with 7-8 hours of performance and Perfect provides a sunny and upbeat experience for the warmer months. Perfect Review

Perfect by Marc Jacobs

I received a sample of Perfect by Marc Jacobs by mistake. With an order, they sent me a whole host of women’s perfumes, when I ordered samples for men. Oh well. As such, I am going to add to my ladies’ fragrance reviews, and start things off with this 2020 release. How does Perfect smell? Perform? Is it worth a try?

My Full Review

Before we get into my own review, let’s see how Marc Jacobs describes it: A bright daffodil and juicy rhubarb accord meets soft cashmeran and comforting notes of almond ilk. Dazzling and unexpected. Perfect, just like you.

The opening is quite bright and juicy. The rhubarb accord comes across like strawberries mixed with a greenish aroma. There also seems to be some other fruity note or at least the impression there, smells sort of like cherry to my nose.

That’ll stick around for a little while, as the daffodil gains strength, along with the light and semi-sweet almond milk. The almond milk actually isn’t too heavy in the mix, don’t expect a huge creaminess or anything, but it is there.

The top is juicy and candy-like (sweet/tart), while this one will dry down into something more woody fresh and musky.

As it moves along, the cashmeran will be the main player alongside the daffodil. It actually never turns into a pure floral play, but is rather balanced in how it presents.

That sweet-tart aroma of the rhubarb accord will fade. It is a clean, slightly soapy scent, with a milky woody base. Not too complicated, but very nice.

Projection, Longevity, and Versatility

Sillage wise, it is fairly strong, while the rhubarb is around. Then, it will be a lighter to moderate wear, without much of a trail.

Overall, I’d say it’s above average, but it’s not going to project like crazy.

The longevity is also good, but not amazing. I get about 7-8 hours of wear, on my skin. So, around a workday, which is fine unless you need a marathon performer.

Seasonally, this one is a spring and summertime wear, all the way. It completely matches a daytime of sunshine and greenery.

It’s not a ‘teenagers’ fragrance, even if they can also where this. Though, it does have a youthful energy. Probably not going to be something that you wear formally. However, it’s safe enough to wear for most other occasions.

Not really a romantic or nightlife wear. Stick to the daytime, but you can use it a whole lot in that timeframe.

Overall Impressions of Perfect

Overall, do I like Perfect? I do enjoy it. It doesn’t live up to the name exactly, but it is a very nice and uplifting perfume from Marc Jacobs.

I like the opening with the rhubarb and how the daffodil starts to come through underneath. It reminds me of a sunny spring day and it all just has a nice energy to it.

As it dries down, I appreciate that it doesn’t go full on floral or green, but instead takes a more balanced approach. The almond milk isn’t all that forceful, but in its limited role (at least on me), it does add a nice touch.

The performance is good all around, even if it isn’t a powerhouse. I don’t think most people would be disappointed by it.

Maybe you should avoid, if you don’t like that sweet tart strawberry/cherry like vibe. If that’s you’re thing, you will probably get plenty of use out of this in the spring and summertime. It’s pretty, not overwhelming, and has some decent versatility.

Daisy by Marc Jacobs Review

I thought that it was time to give Daisy by Marc Jacobs a proper review and so with the last batch of samples that I ordered, I got a vial of this fragrance sent to me as well. It has been a very popular perfume for women for probably over a decade at this point and is always among the best sellers. In this post, I am going to cover how it smells, performs, when it should be worn, and whether or not I think it is worthy of a purchase.

My Full Review

The opening of Daisy gives me the same kind of watery floral aroma, that Alien Aqua Chic did when I reviewed it. The floral notes are different, but there is a similar effect, and I think that Daisy happens to do it better.

Daisy is heavily weighted towards violet and there is also some interplay between the jasmine and gardenia notes. However, the latter two seem to be background players to the main attraction of violet.

Up top, there is the grapefruit note and a light strawberry, as well. To my nose, the strawberry note, doesn’t come through particularly hard. Again, Daisy comes across a watery and the fruit notes, are lightly added, to the overall composition.

The grapefruit note gives Daisy a bit more energy, and there is also definitely a musky warmth, to this perfume. This whole scent strikes me as very light and slightly aquatic, like if the flowers were sitting in a vase full of water. As it wears on, Daisy takes on more of a powdery scent but that never completely takes over the composition but it does feel noticeable about an hour or so in.

Finally, what I am left with is: plenty of violet, some grapefruit, gardenia, and musky undertones. Yes, all still swimming in that vaguely aquatic aroma. This isn’t all that complex of a perfume.

Sillage, Longevity, Versatility

Projection wise, Daisy is light, but it isn’t weak. It isn’t a beast that is going to envelop you (unless you spray like crazy) but it is quite noticeable. Longevity is pretty darn good but not spectacular, I’d say it can hit 7 hours on a regular basis, depending on the conditions it’s worn in.

This Marc Jacobs fragrance is best worn casually, for a day at the office or running around town. I wouldn’t call it a date night perfume or really sexy at all. It’s something that is light and fresh and inoffensive.

I’d also say it’s probably best worn in the springtime as that’s where the notes seem most at home but you could also where it in the other months of the year and be perfectly fine.

Overall Impressions of Daisy

Overall, is Daisy worth a buy? Yes, provided that you like floral scents. It’s a really good casual/everyday wear perfume that seems to enjoy a pretty universal popularity. If you want something that is a little more bold or sexy, then you should probably look elsewhere.

Daisy does what it does very well, and if you’re in the market for something along those lines, it’s a winner. The violet note here is very nice and the gardenia peaking through the background is also quite pleasant.

To me, this Marc Jacobs perfume isn’t amazing, but is a solid choice for a daily wear floral fragrance.

Decadence Eau So Decadent by Marc Jacobs Review

Moving right along through my most recent perfume samples, I have an entry from Marc Jacobs’ line of Decadence fragrances, Eau So Decadent. This flanker to the original has been out for a while now, but how does it actually smell? Is the performance any good? Is this scent worth a try?

What does Decadence Eau So Decadent Smell Like?

Notes include: lily of the valley, raspberry, black currant, pear, amber, magnolia, ivy, jasmine

Click here to try: Marc Jacobs Decadence Eau So Decadent L 3.4 EDT SPRNEW

My Full Review

Eau So Decadent kicks off with its fruit blend of notes, along with a light touch of jasmine and magnolia, underneath. The main ingredient here, is the pear, which gives its usual light juiciness to the composition.

Raspberry and black currant aren’t heavy additions to the mix, but they do allow Eau So Decadent to have a sort of sour berry smell, for at least part of the time.

The next phase of this Marc Jacobs perfume for me, is more floral and greenish, yet still being under the control of the pear note. Ivy, magnolia, and to a lesser extent the jasmine, surround the pear note while the other fruits fade somewhat.

The biggest change comes with the lily of the valley, which amps up the floral/garden type of aroma. It comes across as being quite clean and attractive. It’s still sweet at this stage, but Eau So Decadent, is moving more away from that.

Finally, I am left with pear, lily, magnolia, and amber. The amber note really broke late, on my skin. Maybe I just couldn’t notice it underneath everything else, early on, but it really became a major player.

Sillage, Longevity, and Versatility

The sillage here, is light to moderate. It will project itself out from the skin about 4-5 feet, for a few hours, and then be more of a skin scent. This isn’t a huge or ‘fill up the room’ type of perfume, more of a light and clean, daily wear.

How long does it last? In the 6-8 hour range. The end of that range, it will be an airy skin scent. Very solid performance, but not elite, by any stretch.

This one will be a go-to in the spring and summer months. Pretty much moderate to warmer climates. It would feel out of place in the winter, but I don’t see why you couldn’t wear it, otherwise.

When should this be worn? This is a daily wear. It is safe for the office, casual, or even more formal events. It’s an attractive scent, but doesn’t have that nightlife vibe, or as a date night sort of perfume.

Overall Impression of Decadence Eau So Decadent

Do I like Decadence Eau So Decadent, overall? I do. I think this could be a good option for those who want a safe and versatile bet, for daily wear. Also, those who enjoyed the original Decadence, will like this. This is a bit sweeter and fruitier

Is it a special fragrance? Not really, it’s a good scent, though. Eau So Decadent is an affordable option for women, who want a fruity floral, with a bit of style. Maybe stay away, if you’re not into pear or lily of the valley. I enjoy this for what it is, give it a try.

Best Smelling Marc Jacobs Daisy Perfume

Marc Jacobs’ Daisy line of scents, have been a massive success, and of course fueled almost countless flanker fragrances from the original. With so many options, it can be difficult to cut through the fog of choice, and select one that can be considered the best of the lot. In this post, I am going to try and do so. I will present three options, with different styles, that are the top contenders from the line. From heavier fruited scent to a more floral option and in between.

What are the Best Daisy Perfumes by Marc Jacobs?

Sunny Summer

Marc Jacobs Eau de Toilette Spray, Daisy So Fresh Sunshine, 2.5 Ounce So Fresh Sunshine is a lighter fragrance for the spring/summer months, but also smells amazing. This one is led by the fruit notes, grapefruit and strawberry, above the floral ingredients.

It’s quite a different take from the others in the Daisy line, however, the juicy fruits at the opening and that clean upbeat energy makes it a beautiful departure from the norm.

The strawberry note and apple blossom, reign at the top. During the dry down, rose and jasmine begin to come in. Sunshine is well balanced, but not a powerhouse type of perfume.

Fresh Take

Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh Eau de Toilette Spray-125ml/4.25 oz.– Like Sunshine above, this is a fruitier take on the original Daisy, but it doesn’t stray as far from the original DNA.

The Original

Marc Jacobs Daisy, EDT Spray, 3.4oz 100ml– Finally, we have the original classic scent. This is for those who want a more floral than fruity experience. The violet in this one, is the strongest player, with gardenia and jasmine playing a supporting role.

The fragrance is lightly aquatic and green, with powdery undertones as it dries down. It’s been a best seller for many years now, and for good reason, it is versatile and still manages to smell nice. Daisy Full Review

There you have it, three of the best smelling fragrances from the Marc Jacobs Daisy line. Each one, should fit a different type of style, and whether or not one wants a fruitier or more floral experience from their perfume.
