Eros EDP vs Eros Parfum Comparison

Eros has been a long-time best seller since its 2012 release. In 2020 and 2021, Versace decided to release and eau de parfum and parfum version of this popular cologne. Obviously, this creates questions about which one to get and how each of them compares in smell, longevity, and overall enjoyment. On this page, I compare Eros EDP and Parfum to answer these questions.

My Full Review: Eros Parfum

Opening

Eros EDP doesn’t have that same strong influence from the citrus notes as the EDT. They are still there, just softer. Instead, you get mint, geranium, and sage. This gives Eros EDP a cool freshness, which I find enjoyable.

Also, the green apple and vanilla notes have plenty of power and provide that delicious sweetness. The tonka bean isn’t there, but I actually prefer it that way, with this composition.

It reminded me of older bottles of the EDT, but with that colder and more herbal profile. After the opening, it kind of gets away from that and does its own thing.

Eros Parfum opens up quite fresh, with the citrus notes playing a sparkling role, while being quite muted in the mix.

Lemon, mandarin, and the litsea cubeba (sort of a lemon verbena) seem to run together without any of them really taking over. The amber and resinous notes are apparent from the start.

Not just the amber from the original, but also benzoin and elemi, as well. The resin or medicinal sort of smell isn’t huge in the opening, but there. Sort of a fuzzy type of smell. Black pepper and sage really come through to my nose.

One big difference is lack of mint and green apple here. The apple is the ‘pomarose’ note, it is present but not to the same extent as the EDT or EDP versions. Mint, seems to have been replaced by a stronger geranium influence and the general freshness of notes like clary sage and pepper.

Which is better? Both have a colder freshness to open. Parfum will warm up, later in the wear. I actually like the way each starts out.

However, I think I enjoy the opening act of the EDP more so. I like the classic 2012 EDT batch vibes that it has. Nice freshness, less citrus, and that vanilla and apple accord in effect. Plus, less of the amber.

Edge: EDP

Sillage

Both are strong. Neither are super powerful. You’ll get a nice scent trail with either of these. The projection seems to reach a tiny bit further with the Parfum. I’m talking like 1-2 feet maybe, when I sprayed each on clothes.

I did that a few times with each and Parfum was a little bit stronger.

Edge: Parfum

Longevity

With Eau de Parfum, I got 8-9.5 hours on my skin. Not as good as the old EDT formulations, but very nice.

Parfum can hit just over 10 hours. One time, it was more in line with the EDP. But, it did get that extra bit, that I’ve never gotten with EDP.

Edge: Parfum

Versatility

Eros EDP was a bit more refined than the EDT. While it wasn’t a warm weather scent, it could venture further than the original, while still working best in the cold.

With Parfum, even warmer temperatures seem to work well. I’d avoid the extreme heat or cold with it, but outside of that, it wouldn’t be bad.

It’s smoothness and toned down use of the amber, really help it to have a more mature profile than EDP.

Those are the main distinctions, giving Parfum an edge.

Edge: Parfum

Overall Scent

So, this is a pretty tough call, as neither of these fragrances seems to stand out above the other to any real extent in terms of smell. They both have their pluses.

With Eau de Parfum, I like the beginning. I think that Eros EDP starts out great and had me really excited the first time that I tried it out. I was hoping I’d get a return to the classic EDT formulation, with slight tweaks.

But, that changed during the dry down, as Eau de Parfum goes in a different direction. The mint, apple, vanilla, and cedar notes end up being the main focus for much of the wear.

It’s colder and sweeter than Parfum. The sage and other fresh notes also begin to subside. My main gripe is the Ambermax note in EDP. It gets louder during the dry down and reminds me too much of the harshness of Eros Flame (just to a lesser extent).

Yes, Parfum uses a greater amount of amber and resinous notes in the mix. However, it is just a smoother experience than EDP’s use.

The two finish quite similar. But, I think that this is where Parfum may have a slight edge. It’s got a nice creaminess from the vanilla, a mix of cashmeran and vetiver, and more of the freshness from early on.

Add in, a bit more longevity and projection, and I will give the narrow victory to Eros Parfum. EDP had promise early on, but doesn’t sustain it to the same degree.

Winner: Eros Parfum

Versace Eros vs Eau Fraiche Cologne Comparison

Versace has a whole line of wonderful smelling men’s colognes and two of the best selling fragrances in the world belong to the franchise, Eros and Versace Man Eau Fraiche. As such, many guys narrow their choice of what cologne to purchase to between these Versace gems. How do they compare? Which one smells better? Which lasts longer? In this post, I want to compare these two scents and try to determine a clear winner or at least point to some deciding factors, that should help make a decision.

Opening

The opening of Eros is rich and complex. It’s a gourmand type of scent that blends the crispness of mint and apple with the smooth flavors of tonka bean and vanilla.

Update: Newer bottles seem to have more lemon, then they used to. As such, the opening act has a more noticeable citrus kick.

Eau Fraiche is a very cool fragrance that opens with the scent of frozen citrus, you literally get a chilled scent. It’s quite sharp with lemon and starfruit. Add to that, some rosemary spice and the freshness of the woody base.

I think Eros has more character and is more interesting from the beginning, though I have no complaints about either. I do really like the starfruit aspect of Eau Fraiche, but I’d still give Eros the edge.

Update: Ehhh, coming back to these two. I am going to change it to Fraiche. Maybe it’s just me, but the balance of the newer Eros bottles seems off. The opening of Fraiche is sharp and fresh, but strikes me as a bit better now.

Edge: Fraiche

Projection

Neither of these bad boys is weak by any means. Eros is loud and heavy. Seriously, I wouldn’t ever overdo this scent. Eau Fraiche is no slouch and while not as strong as Eros it can still be a projection beast, at first.

Update: Eros has weakened somewhat, but is still ahead in this matchup. Eau Fraiche becomes more of a moderate, the further along you get into it. It’s sharpness up top, does project very well, though.

Edge: Eros

Longevity

Again, both are good performers. All day wear from both. Eros just doesn’t seem to quit sometimes, while Man Eau Fraiche, usually gets me 6-7 hours of solid wear before tapering off.

Update: Nowadays, I get in the 8-9 hour range with Eros. Not double digits anymore.

Edge: Eros

Versatility

To me, this is where the true decision lies between these two colognes. Eros is a cold weather fragrance and can be too much for casual situations (at least use it lightly).

Meanwhile, Eau Fraiche is a classic summetime scent, it can hold up during the rest of the year but it has that warm weather vibe to it. Plus, Eau Fraiche, is better for casual situations since it is not as heavy.

Eau Fraiche just has an easier time fitting in during a greater number of scenarios. Neither is a formal fragrance, however.

Edge: Eau Fraiche

Overall Scent

I like Eros better. I just find the warmth and complexity inherently appealing. However, Versace Man Eau Fraiche is probably more serviceable as an everyday wear. One is built for the winter while another shines in the summer.

They really are on two ends of the spectrum, so the best buy is up to your personal needs from the fragrance. I’d rather wear Eros out of these two. Even, with the slight changes I pick up from newer bottles of Eros, I still would gravitate toward that more often.

That being said, it’s much closer than it used to be and I’m very close to give Fraiche the win straight up. If I’m going to get a lemony opening from both, I like the pairing with starfruit from Fraiche.

The mint, vanilla, lemon blend used to be better. But, on the whole, Eros still has plenty going for it.

Winner: Eros (very slightly)

9 Best Smelling Thierry Mugler Perfumes for Women

French fashion designer Thierry Mugler has had long success producing a haute couture line of clothing and lifestyle items. Perhaps his most successful and most popular contribution to the world of fashion is his fragrance line. Two of his perfumes, Alien and Angel, are seemingly always among the top sellers for women.

Why? They are well-made with unique notes and they of course also smell great. For this list, I want to present to you the best smelling fragrances from the Thierry Mugler line and the top varients of the Alien and Angel names.

What are the Best Mugler Perfumes?

Best Seller

Thierry Mugler Alien Refillable Eau de Parfum Spray, 3 Ounce– Alien is an interesting fragrance for women, as the name itself suggests, there is something exotic. foreign, or even other worldly about this scent. Floral and woody notes blend together and top it off with a kick of spice.

It’s sweet and loud and a perfume that really shines in the wintertime. Alien is led by jasmine as the floral, surrounded by warm amber, and with a woody base. This fragrance lets itself be known, can overwhelm some, but others swear by its power and cannot do without this Mugler creation.

This is the most popular Mugler fragrance, along with Angel, so it’s likely the one that you already know. While it has become widely used, Alien is still a very good fragrance, and has its place on this list without question.

If Alien is too much for you, you could also try the much more tolerable Alien Fusion. It’s too similar for me to give it, it’s own entry on the list, but Fusion is excellent.

alien

Classic Powerhouse

Thierry Mugler Angel Eau De Parfum Spray, 1.7 Ounce– A strong, daytime fragrance that has been one of the best selling perfumes for quite a long while. Angel is fresh and intriguing. However, it does bring the power, and the longevity is incredible. The opening is sweet with coconut, a dark chocolate, and fruit notes (mainly melon).

It dries down with a lot of patchouli. Very gourmand in the beginning, a highly famous scent. Not really one for those who want something light or need a perfume for a warmer climate.

The aroma has become very familiar, but it’s still a great wear in the right situation. Notes include: vanilla, sandalwood, and patchouli,  fresh citrus, melons, peaches, and plums.

angel

Top Newer Release

Aura EDT– This is another interesting fragrance from Mugler, that won’t have universal appeal, but is still a really good scent. There is an EDT and EDP version. I actually liked the EDT version better for a long while, but testing out the EDP again for the site…I’ve come to prefer it.

Aura is not only unique but it performs very well, also. The EDP opens with orange blossom, a dewy forest aroma, and plenty of rhubarb. Yes, this one is different and surprisingly awesome.

It comes across as a bit minty, green fresh, with orange blossom and vanilla. It can fit in during a variety of seasons, and is one that is weird enough to stand apart. Aura EDP Review

Powerful Orient Inspired Perfume

Thierry Mugler Alien Essence Absolue Eau De Parfum Intense The Refillable Stones Spray 30ml/1oz– A clean and lingering floral with a host of intriguing notes including: black vanilla, orris, myrrh, incense, animaliac notes. Essence Absolue is a warm and enveloping fragrance, with a smokey and sweet disposition.

Vanilla and the jasmine note from the original, are key elements here. However, the amber-laden aroma, is joined by that myrrh and incense to give this Alien perfume an exotic smell. Sweet and sometimes spicy, sillage monster.

This is another one, that is going to have a limited use base. Not for warmer weather, as it’s too sweet and thick itself, to go well with the summer heat. However, it is quite a beautiful and attractive fragrance, with a fantastic amber note.

alien essence

Summertime Wear

Angel Sunessence by Thierry Mugler Light Eau-de-toilette Spray for Women, 1.70-Ounce– A bright and sweet smelling fruity patchouli perfume, which settles down beautifully, with a bit of time. Bergamot and red berries give, this Angel a different and less intense feel than the original.

It can start out somewhat tart, but it doesn’t ever have a super heavy sillage to it. There is a great honey note and blackberry, which begins to emerge later in the dry down. Still, a great performance, just not as loud as Angel.

angel sunessence

Most Unique Mugler

Womanity by Thierry Mugler for Women, Eau de Parfum Refillable Spray, 2.7 Ounce– A wholly feminine and utterly unique fragrance from Thierry Mugler. Womanity has its sweet and woodsy moments which creates something almost unforgettable.  You probably gotta love fig, to truly appreciate this one, because it is full of the stuff from wood to fruit.

Beyond that, is a salty caviar note…which yeah, I said this one was unique. It is another strong scent from Mugler, however, this one, is going to be much more niche in terms of how many folks will enjoy it.

Fresh with a woody, marine dry down. Very hit or miss with people, but I appreciate the brand taking chances and putting this on the market.

womanity

Light and Sweet

Thierry Mugler Angel Innocent Eau de Parfum Spray, 2.6 Ounce– Subtle, light, and airy. This perfume lives up to the Innocent moniker with notes of pure mandarin, honey,  almond, exotic fruits,  rich musk, and amber.

It’s citrus notes lead the top, but is flanked by berries, and a semi-tart black currant. It’s sweet and nutty and an overall beautiful wear.

Kind of a departure for Mugler, when they are known for bold scents. Innocent takes the opposite tact and does it well. I think that this has been discontinued, but bottles are still around online.

angel innocent

The Explosive Angel

Angel Nova– I’m adding Nova to the list after trying it in 2021. Now, from the jump, it’s probably not a fragrance that everyone will enjoy.

The raspberry and litchi notes are juicy and bold. To my nose, it also seemed like there was mango in the mix as well. Up top, it is all about these juicy fruit notes. However, it will get drier, floral, and a bit spicy.

The Damask rose is the leader in the final stages. The tropical aroma is nearly gone and Nova has an earthy quality to it. Rose, benzoin, and a earthy/dirtiness. I really dug it. Angel Nova Review

Fun, Tropical Option

Angel Iced Star– Angel Iced Star isn’t a super complicated fragrance, but it is one that is enjoyable, with a somewhat pina colada-like aroma. The pineapple note is the lead here, but there is also a good deal of coconut in the mix.

Then, there is the patchouli and vanilla notes, giving this one a full sweet and tropical gourmand profile. It’s delicious and a really nice option for standing out in the warmer months.

The pineapple kicks things off with a great juiciness, before it is more evenly split with the vanilla and coconut. This is just a fun and youthful sort of perfume, not serious or anything at all formal.

10 Best Smelling Creed Perfumes for Women

Creed is a boutique fragrance designer which dates back centuries and has designed fragrances for for royalty and celebrities around the world (at least according to their stories). Creed is known for using the finest ingredients and creating complex natural scents that stand out among a crowd of imitators.

Their line of women’s perfumes seem to be mostly floral based and while many share similar floral notes, each one has a unique twist on them to add fruity, spicy, or other undertones. As always, I have linked out to a page where is of these scents can be purchased at a great price.

You may also find great Creed fragrances that can be worn by women in my Best Creed Colognes for Men post!

What are the Best Creed Fragrances for Ladies?

Most Popular Creed Perfume

Creed Spring Flower by Creed for Women Millesime Spray, 2.5 OunceNotes include jasmine, peach, apple, musk, melon, rose, ambergris.  Spring Flower is an uplifting fruity scent with bright, floral undertones.

Melon, peach and apple are paired for a crisp and juicy sweet start to the wear.  Then, the rose and jasmine note usher in its flowery namesake, which is quite pretty.

Along with the typical Creed ambergris note, Spring Flower has a musky dry down that is fairly potent. The flower aspect is more prominent further along in the life cycle, with jasmine and musk being the highlights at that point. Meanwhile, the fruit notes have become more subdued.

Spring Flower isn’t really a heavy fragrance, more light to moderate. However, it provides good longevity, and versatility. It can definitely become a signature every day wear.

spring-flower-75ml-creed

Elegant Creed Fragrance

CREED FLEURISSIMO by Creed for WOMEN: EAU DE PARFUM SPRAY 2.5 OZA more mature floral than Spring Flower and not as bright as that fragrance. Classy and elegant. This actually lacks the fruits found in the first entry.

Instead one is left with a bouquet of florals with iris, violet, and tuberose. Fleurissimo has a vintage style and a garden rich profile.

As it dries down, this Creed scent has more warmth and a soapy/powdery clean quality. This is an all day wear, with excellent longevity. A springtime fragrance. Notes include: Bulgarian rose, violet, tuberose, Florentine iris.

creed fleurissimo

Classic Rose, Citrus, and Musk

Creed Fleurs De Bulgarie By Creed Millesime Spray For Women 2.5 ozA very old perfume, supposedly dating back to 1845. Fleurs De Bulgarie is another floral perfume but one with more of a kick of citrus and spice to it.

This floral, however, is straight rose. It’s sweet and clean with a musky profile.

Fleurs de Bulgarie is pretty linear, but the dry down elevates the ambergris to go along with that great rose essence.

Obviously, it has been updated along the way, by Fleurs is still a wonderful addition to one’s collection.  Notes include: Bulgarian Rose Essences, Musks, Ambergris, bergamot.

Fleurs De Bulgarie

Amazing Vanilla

Sublime Vanille– Creed’s Sublime Vanilla, might have the best smelling vanilla note that I’ve ever come across, it’s absolutely delightful. That creamy goodness is joined up top by orange and lemon, that creates a dessert-like quality to this scent.

It’s warm, with some additional touches of musk and tonka bean. A softer fragrance, that isn’t too complicated, but shows the absolute quality of the Royal Exclusives line of perfumes by Creed.

The issue that can come up with this one, is the heavy price tag. It is even higher priced than the others on this list. The sillage and performance are pretty good, just not outstanding. What you do get is a nice creamy vanilla, with bright citrus, and a bit of musk. Sublime Vanille Review

Sweet Violet

Love in Black– I’m personally not a huge fan of wearing violet fragrances, but I have to say I do enjoy the way that Love in Black by Creed smells.

First, it opens up with a sweet and tart black currant note that can come across like a jam. This is joined by a fresh cedar, giving it an interesting, though not always immediately enjoyable smell.

The iris and violet notes come through, giving this one a powdery aroma, fairly similar to Broadway Nite (that’s probably more powdery, but smells a lot like Love in Black).

It will become an intense violet aroma, with a sweetness, mixed floral notes, and some slight woodiness. Love in Black isn’t for everyone, so, it’d probably be best to test before committing to a full bottle.

Yet, for those who enjoy violet, this is a great example and wonderful performer.

Princess Creed

Royal Princess Oud– Royal Princess Oud is an interesting one. Like, Love in Black it features violet and iris, but early on this is paired with citrus and is way less dense.

In fact, it’s kind of bright and a bit green/floral at the early stages. The title-sake agarwood will come on, but it doesn’t feel overwhelming.

The fragrance certainly has its stronger ingredients, but also feels very balanced for much of the wear.

Yet, this stuff is intricate. The powdery qualities of the florals have their time. Bright citrus. Woodiness. Spice. Then, a resin/creaminess of vanilla, sandalwood, and some benzoin. The opening can be rough, but the development is really great.

Tuberose-led White Floral

Tubereuse Indiana By Creed For Women. Millesime Spray 2.5 OzTuberose Indiana brings on a nice smelling bouquet of white floral notes highlighted by the tuberose, but not really dominated. In addition, one gets a hint of bergamot, and a creamy vanilla at the top.

Then, there is the ambergris and fairly heavy musk. With that, a slight earthiness in the middle act, and a spiced kick too. The mix is attractive for those who like an old school sort of floral perfume, but not completely stuck in the past.

Notes include vanilla, ambergris, tuberose, white flowers, and bergamot. Captivating smell.

Tubereuse Indiana

Best Woody Fragrance

Vanisia By Creed For Women. Millesime Spray 2.5 OzA nice, feminine scent that screams sophistication. Vanisia is a move away from the strictly floral scents featured before. This is a very well performing blend of mostly sandalwood and vanilla.

Naturally, the Creed ambergris is another heavy hitter within the composition but there is also a straight amber note, which makes for an interesting pairing.

Vanisia is like vintage confidence in a bottle, with jasmine playing a supporting role to the main ingredients. Notes include: Jasmine, vanilla, rose, sandalwood

vanisia

Best Summertime Pick

Acqua Fiorentina Perfume by Creed for women Millesime Spray 2.5 oz
A complex fragrance that is a light aromatic with layered notes of (some) floral and (mostly) citrus.

This is the go to, if you like fruitier compositions. Bergamot, lemon, and plum start off Acqua Fiorentina with a very bright and quite sharp citrus sensation.

However, there is also a crisp apple note in the mix, which adds to the overall juiciness.

As it dries down, there is a hint of rose and carnation, which balances out some of the fruit overload. Plus, the cedar/sandalwood which sits at the base, and holds this whole thing together.

Very much like, The Scent of Peace for Her by Bond No. 9.  Notes include: rose, Virginian cedar, lemon, sandalwood, carnation, bergamot.

Acqua Fiorentina

Top Winter Creed Scent

Creed Jasmin Imperatrice Eugenie Millesime Spray for Women, 2.5 OunceThe supposed story behind this one, is that Jasmin Imperatrice was personally designed for Empress Eugenie of France, wife of Napoleon III. Ok, then.

If you enjoy jasmine and sandalwood, this might be your Holy Grail fragrance. It is an elegant woody fragrance with smooth vanilla undertones and that utterly delightful jasmine throughout.

Jasmin Imperatrice is luxurious and royal, whether or not it was actually made for an empress. This perfume has huge sillage and keeps going and going for hours.

Super strong but the sandalwood and jasmine combo might just be worth it to you. Notes include: bergamot, Bulgarian rose, amergris, Italian jasmine, vanilla

Jasmin Imperatrice Eugenie

9 Best Smelling Mint Scented Colognes

Mint is ubiquitous in foods, gums, fresheners, and the like. Whether you’re talking about peppermint or spearmint, everyone knows the smell, and it isn’t a difficult ingredient to parse out. In colognes, it isn’t used all the time, and is even more rarely the star of the show. But, there are some really good ones. Here is a review list of some of the top selections for men’s fragrances with a prominent mint note.

What are the Best Smelling Mint Colognes for Men?

Boozy Mint Fragrance

Guerlain Homme Eau De Parfum Spray for Men, 2.7 Ounce
The mint note in this one is a part of the mojito accord which gives it a fresh and boozy type of scent with a woodsy background. I wear this one on a pretty regular basis.

This one opens up with a strong blend of mint and lime, with the rum note hanging around in the background. The lime and mint are about equal at first, but the mint gains strength, as the wear moves along. It’s also got a sweet sugar note.

During the dry down, the mint is flanked by cedar and vetiver. It becomes woodier and much drier of a cologne. It’s not super heavy and will give you 7-8 hours of performance. My Guerlain Review

Best Smelling Mint

Kryptomint– Kryptomint is a great one, if you’re in the market for a gourmand mint fragrance with plenty of warmth. You get coffee, chocolate, and tonka bean. Pair that with mint and patchouli, giving this Thierry Mugler scent a distinct and delightful vibe.

The greatest part is, that Kryptomint, settles into its warmer state. The opening act is as cold as ice, with a brilliant use of mint. Super fresh and sweet with really nice performance.

Now, Kryptomint isn’t the best fragrance out there. It is getting the nod, as the best mint cologne, in my mind. If I wanted a mint based cologne it would be either this or Guerlain Homme.

Fresh Mint and Lavender

Prada Luna Rossa Eau de Toilette Spray for Men, 3.4 Ounce– I don’t usually care for bitter orange notes like in Terre d’Hermes (which I hate), but it quite simply works in Luna Rossa, and is by no means overpowering.

Plus, the citrus is only the main attraction at first. Then, there is an emergence of mint and lavender. What a great little scent. It is a bright citrus aroma with a cool demeanor thanks to the spearmint and calming lavender note.

The dry down does have a slight powdery/soapy feel, but it isn’t that much, and way less than what is in some of the others. The spearmint here, is utterly perfect.  Luna Rossa Full Review

The Best Seller with Mint

Versace Eros Eau de Toilette Spray for Men, 3.4 Fluid Ounce
Versace Eros is very rich and layered, which helps to produce a heavy, warm, and gourmand aroma. The mint lends to this by playing beautifully off of notes such as tonka bean.

In the newer bottles, I definitely get more of the lemon note, versus a blend of mint and lemon. However, this still gives a great bold aroma, with our target ingredient playing a large role.

No, Eros isn’t a pure mint fragrance, but it provides the cooling freshness against the other warmer/thick notes. Versace Eros Review

An Autumn Minty Cologne

BURBERRY for Men Eau de Toilette, 3.3 fl.ozBurberry cologne is the titular house fragrance from this design company. It also happens to be one of my favorite to wear on this list. Burberry for Men isn’t as in your face as many other colognes on the market, but it allows it’s striking and refined aroma speak for itself.

It features a cool mint note, that provides that familiar fresh spice on top of a smooth sandalwood, and embedded within a warm amber. It is an interesting play between warmth and cold, throughout the wear.

This is all solidified by a smooth trio of sandalwood, lavender, and cedar. This forms the base of Burberry for Men and adds that woody masculine layer.

This has a more mature character and a moderate sillage. I’ve always felt that I could wear Burberry anywhere and it be an appropriate cologne for that occasion. It’s woody, fresh, and an intriguing fragrance that I always love catching a whiff of. My review

Aromatic Mint

Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male By Jean Paul Gaultier For Men. Eau De Toilette Spray 4.2 Oz.
Warm, spicy, and vanilla. Le Male gets energized by the mint notes providing a fresh spice to its smooth fragrance.

Le Male is an absolute classic, at this point, and a fragrance that almost everyone has encountered. The mint and vanilla notes are so good together, with some added spices and the calming force of the lavender at the very heart.

The dry down, is more about the vanilla, but the mint hangs around the whole time. Plus, at the start, it really shines. This is an easy daily wear, with good performance, and suitable for younger guys. Le Male JPG Review

Simple and Clean

Ralph Lauren Big Pony Green #3 Men By Ralph Lauren Eau de Toilette, 4.2-ounce
This is a soft and fresh and very straightforward fragrance by Ralph Lauren. The notes essentially consist of mint, ginger, bergamot, which gives #3 a green and spicy scent.

The interplay between the light ginger and mint is interesting. I am a big fan of ginger in colognes, though, it isn’t a huge factor in Big Pony #3. This scent has been discontinued, as it was a short-lived lineup.

However, if you can get a cheap bottle, this is a simple one worth checking out.

Classy Masculine Scent

Cartier Roadster 3.4 Fl. oz. Eau De Toilette Spray Men
Roadster is a fresh and prominent use of mint with some vetiver and vanilla to give it a smoother woodsy feel. However, the mint is the main attraction.

Roadster is a very ‘green’ type of fragrance, with mint as its main note. It’s got a smooth lightness from the vanilla note and the vetiver gives it a masculine quality.

Rather unique overall, but simple. The opening is the mint with a spritz of the bergamot citrus and vanilla sweetness hanging in the background. Top Cartier Fragrances

Another Guerlain Option

L’homme Ideal Cool by Guerlain– This one is a blend and it’s harder to find nowadays. But, this is a great fragrance with a large dose of mint in there.

Ideal Cool gives you the usual citrus start, like the EDT, but adds on a fresher and greener profile than the other iterations from Guerlain.

The interesting part of the fragrance to me, is when the mint note interacts with the almond. Sounds a bit strange, but it simply works. The sillage here is pretty light, but the performance in terms of longevity is solid.
