Chance Eau Tendre by Chanel

Chance Eau Tendre is one of the more popular takes on the Chanel Chance name. It’s already famous and a best seller, but does it actually warrant this position. I recently revisited this perfume, grabbed some samples to test out, and finally put my thoughts to the page. How does Eau Tendre smell? Does it last long? Is it worth a try?

eau tendre edt review

My Full Review

Here’s how Chanel describes it: The delicate and unexpected floral-fruity fragrance creates a soft, tender whirlwind of happiness, fantasy and radiance—a chance encounter.

Eau Tendre starts off with its citrus note playing a very prominent role. The more unique quince note, leads the way supported by the more standard grapefruit. It’s bight and fresh, since you can already pick up the cedar and musk notes from the base.

I do notice with this original EDT version, the citrus notes stick around for a longer period of time than they do in the EDP.

There is also a greenish feel to the opening act. Part of the quince and maybe a stem-like aroma from some of the emergent floral. Not massive, but in the early stages, I can pick it up.

This one will shift from just being a fresh citrus fragrance to something that is floral, sweeter, and with a powdery finish. That’s going to be the case, when the hyacinth note is the strongest floral and it gets assistance in that regard from the iris.

The iris and jasmine seem to split duties between themselves. At certain points, the iris will be the second strongest floral, at others I will get a lot more jasmine.

The dry down is a powdery and musky citrus aroma. Cedar freshness still abounds, but the distinct qualities of the jasmine and iris seem to have merged into the hyacinth. So, sort of a generic powdery floral smell.

Sillage, Longevity, and Versatility

The sillage here is a tad above average on the whole. The opening hour or two does produce a nice scent trail and it projects quite well off of the skin after spraying.

Now, this isn’t a heavy or ‘thick’ sort of perfume that will blanket a room, unless you just go nuts with the spraying. Nonetheless, it’s certainly not weak and will give one a decent scent bubble for much of the duration.

The longevity with Eau Tendre EDT is around 6-8 hours. Usually, I can get to seven with it as a base. However, it can occasionally fall short of that and only get to about six.

Eau Tendre is a very versatile fragrance, that can easily serve as a daily wear or signature scent for many women (and already does). It’s light and simple enough for teens to wear, but not immature, and really can work across the age spectrum.

Seasonally, this Chanel is best in the spring and summer months. It’s lightness and fresh/upbeat qualities make it a very nice wear for the warmer temperatures.

Overall Impressions of Eau Tendre

Overall, do I like Eau Tendre? Yes, the EDT version is my personal favorite from the entire Chance line. I think that it is slightly better smelling than the EDP and basically has the exact same performance level.

Eau Tendre is a very approachable and great little perfume. It’s really something that you can wear and not have to think about very much. Smell good and go. The floral notes are powdery and clean, not too much musk, and a citrus accord that isn’t exactly the same as everything else out there.

Yes, this has been around for a long while now, and has become fairly ubiquitous in its use among the public. Still, Chance Eau Tendre is a perfume that most people won’t find very much issue with and will probably enjoy. Well, except maybe the Chanel pricing.

10 Best Smelling Marshmallow Scented Perfumes

Marshmallow isn’t used super often in fragrances. Just about never, in men’s colognes, but occasionally in ladies’ scents. It’s kind of a shame, because its sweet and fluffy goodness, can be really attractive when done the right way. Besides, just about everyone is familiar with the aroma, and has positive memories of campfires and marshmallows.

In this post, I want to present ten perfume options for ladies, who want a marshmallow scented fragrance to wear. I’ve tried to include inexpensive and more upscale selections here.

Favorite Perfumes that Smell Like Marshmallows

Bold and Confident

Dolce & Gabbana Pour Femme Intense Eau De Parfum Spray, 3.3 oz
Warm and complex scent that was released in 2012.  It’s a dynamic blend of exotic notes that give confident women the chance to stand out. It’s another sweet gourmand type of fragrance with marshmallow being the main attraction this time.

However, it’s not just about the sugary sweetness as Pour Femme Intense has a bouquet of floral notes from tuberose to neroli to orange blossom. All of this sits on top of a sandalwood base which gives it a smooth woody aroma in the background.

Notes include: green mandarin, neroli, tuberose, orange blossom, sweet marshmallow.

High-End Creamy Marshmallow

Oriana by Parfums de Marly– Sugary sweet, sometimes creamy, finishes powdery. Oriana is an awesome marshmallow perfume from PdM.

Oriana opens up with a fruity aroma, centered on the raspberry note, but flanked by an array of citrus fruits. The center is going to give you the mix of marshmallow, whipped cream, and vanilla to give you an edible gourmand overload.

Not a massive projection here, but the longevity is nice. It’s warmer and cozy giving you the sweetness you want, with style, and a sour aspect in the early stages.

Oriana is one of the pricier options on the list, so you might want to source a sample of it before committing to a full bottle.

Affordable Delight

Sweet Tooth by Sabrina Carpenter– This candy-like scent not only gives you the marshmallow experience, but goes full confectionary, and for under $30 (as of writing).

Sweet Tooth kicks things off with a fresh ginger note, chocolate, marshmallow, with vanilla and coconut waiting in the wings. So, it will cycle from sweet powdery to sweet creamy during the wear.

Nonetheless, you do still get a good amount of time with the marshmallow as a standout note. It’s sugary with its sweetness and the creaminess is going to be a blend of whipped cream, vanilla, and the coconut.

It’s not exactly like an specific type of dessert or candy. It’s a light and fun fragrance, however, and the chocolate touches are a nice edition from the rest of the notes. It has a surprising amount of depth.

Sugary Marshmallow and White Florals

By Kilian – Love Travel Spray with Refills Love, don’t be shy gives us a sugary marshmallow fragrance, that starts off with a slightly spicy blend and enjoyable trio of orange blossom, neroli, and honeysuckle.

This all sits on top of a lush amber based, that is dotted with iris and rose which gives Love a bit of a powdery aroma. It’s a sweet white floral fragrance, that is paired with that marshmallow/caramel combination to give the scent a gourmand kind of vibe.

The latter stages really give me more of a jasmine/orange blossom pairing, the marshmallow, and amber.  Performance is good, but Love don’t be shy isn’t a heavy kind of perfume. One of the best ladies’ scents by Kilian.

Summertime Option

Bond No. 9 Liberty Island Eau De Parfum Spray, Unisex, 3.3 Ounce– Liberty Island starts off with bergamot and mandarin orange, in its fairly sharp citrus opening. These two notes, along with marshmallow, are the stars of the show.

This Bond No. 9 is well-blended, so, don’t expect a straight marshmallow scent throughout. Nonetheless, Liberty provides a fun and beautiful summertime fragrance, dotted by floral notes of orange blossom and jasmine.

It’s a fairly simple fragrance, but one which gives you an option to get away from the super sugary/warm winter scents, that use this ingredient. Only downside is the price per bottle.

Best Ariana Grande Marshmallow Fragrance

Ariana Grande Sweet Like Candy Eau de Parfum, 3.4 Ounce– You could go with any of the other Ariana fragrances, as they almost all contain marshmallow. At least, the earlier releases.

It’s a close call as to what is ‘the best’ of the Ariana Grande lineup of perfumes, but Sweet Like Candy Gets the edge to me.

It obviously has a certain sweetness, that Ari also shares, yet this one is lighter and more airy. Vanilla, blackberry, whipped cream, and of course, marshmallow pull together to form a warm and youthful candy-like aroma.

Unique Marshmallow Perfume

Etat Libre d’Orange Divin Enfant Eau de Parfum Spray, 1.6 fl. oz.– This is a very interesting use of marshmallow, as you get it mixed with floral notes (rose and neroli), and dry rich ingredients such as tobacco and leather.

The sweetness is there, just subdued, into a comforting scent that retains a sense of innocence. Drying down, it features a creamy tonka bean, with leather, and orange blossom to go along with our particular note.

Probably the most unique option on the list, so, it won’t be for everybody. However, for those who want something a bit different, Divin Enfant could be just the perfume you’re looking for.

Inexpensive Option for Younger Women

Vera Wang Pink Princess By For Women Edt Spray 1 Oz– Pink Princess starts off with a juiciness, that is provided by raspberry, and supported by the citrus aroma of grapefruit.

It plays very well off of the marshmallow, before the fragrance turns more floral and powdery, with the introduction of hibiscus and amber.

The raspberry does stay around, giving this Vera Wang fragrance a delicious background, while the marshmallow does its thing.

Very sweet, juicy, and has a comforting cloud-like sillage around one’s skin. Not that it’s heavy, but it does create a nice little perimeter.

Fruity Marshmallow

Juicy Couture Hollywood Royal by Juicy Couture for Women Eau De Toílette Spray 2.5 oz A light and airy fragrance that pairs marshmallow with a crisp and sweet apple note.

These two notes are held together by a heart of gardenia and jasmine, with hints of vanilla wafting up throughout the wear.

The performance is okay, but not amazing. Though, you do get a smooth and sweet aroma, with periods of powdered freshness.

Hollywood Royal has been discontinued, but there are still some inexpensive bottles, floating around out there. Update: It’s still available for cheap here in 2024.

Pin Up Sweets

Classique Pin Up by JPG– This is more of a blend with a prominent marshmallow note, but it is still very good. Yet, early entries on the list do have more influence from our target note.

Orange blossom and marshmallow are the strongest two notes in the early part of the wear. So, it isn’t entirely an accessory role from the fluffy ingredient.

Ginger is here to give it an opening freshness and the vanilla really comes on strong towards the middle. So, orange blossom with vanilla and the remaining marshmallow will be the main attraction in the dry down period.

Fun, flirty, sweet, with an easy to wear style.

Soleil Brulant by Tom Ford

Soleil Brulant was released by Tom Ford in 2021, as a part of the now extensive Private Collection from the brand. I’ve enjoyed the other Soleil fragrances in the line and was fairly interested in trying this one out. I grabbed a sample of it recently to test Brulant and give it my full review. How does it smell? When should it be worn? Is it worth a try?

What does Soleil Brulant Smell Like?

Notes include: mandarin, bergamot, peppercorn, leather, vetiver, amber, orange flower, honey

Click here to try: Soleil Brulant

My Full Review

Before we get into my review, let’s see how Tom Ford describes it: CAPTURES THE HIGH-SHINE BRILLIANCE OF THE GOLDEN SUN BEAMING ON A PRIVATE OASIS. THE SUNKISSED FRESHNESS OF MANDARIN AND BERGAMOT MINGLES WITH SPICY PINK PEPPERCORN, GIVING WAY TO AN ORNATE AND REGAL FLORAL HEART WHILE ORANGE FLOWER ABSOLUTE AND A NOTE OF RADIANT BLACK HONEY RELEASE A SEDUCTIVE VAPOR. THE BACKGROUND BRINGS THE BURNISHED WARMTH OF DECADENT AMBER EMBELLISHED WITH RESINS AND WOODS. AN AIR OF VETIVER AND LEATHER STOKES THE SMOKINESS OF EXTRAVAGANT INCENS

Soleil Brulant opens like a spiced honey blend with a hint of bright citrus to lighten things up a bit. The perfume feels quite resinous, but not super heavy. Immediately, you do get the burning sun-drenched quality of the fragrance. Some smoky incense, but it’s not overwhelming the composition.

It’s a unique sort of smell for sure, though, there’s something in here that reminds me of one of the Serge Lutens fragrances that I’ve reviewed…not sure which. It might be the orange flower note.

Brulant isn’t a very sweet fragrance, especially early on.. It feels dry with an amber/honey resin, on top of that familiar Tom Ford leather note.

After that initial wave of peppercorn, the orange flower comes more into play. That’s when I start to take to Soleil Brulant. I like the burnt honey quality mixing with the floral accord and the woody/leathery base.

The final dry down actually sweetens up, in comparison to the opening act. The amber and honey, have a smooth and actually somewhat creamy quality. Still white orange flower, but overall less of the burnt or spicy qualities that I encountered early on.

It’s calmer and just more enjoyable without the stronger spiced kicks. The amber gets to come through, without having to fight for attention.

Sillage, Longevity, and Versatility

In terms of the sillage, it really isn’t a loud projecting kind of fragrance. Actually, pretty moderate for most of the wear. I’d say that it’s above average overall and you will notice it. But, I didn’t get the feeling I was going to blow out the room while wearing Brulant.

The longevity is actually good. I usually got around 8 hours during testing. Sometimes, it’d creep up to 9 full hours on my skin. The good news is, that it stayed solid during that time frame, and wasn’t just another skin scent.

Performance is very good, on the whole.

Seasonally, it works pretty much whenever. I wouldn’t wear it during the hottest days, but again, it’s not a super thick or heavy fragrance. It can absolutely go beyond the winter time and venture into the summer, without much issue.

Though, I would prefer to wear Brulant when it is cooler even versus just more moderate days. That’s when these notes would really get to shine. That might be my own personal preference, though.

It’s almost perfectly unisex, maybe leaning slightly feminine. I don’t think anyone would have much of an issue wearing Soleil Brulant. Casual to semi formal wear. Could be a low key nightlife scent and one that has an attractive, if not sexy, aroma to it.

Overall Impressions of Soleil Brulant

Overall, do I like this perfume? I like Soleil Brulant. I don’t love it and I don’t really see myself wearing it that often, but it’s not something that offends me. Plus, it has some enjoyable moments. It’s just not a great one from Tom Ford.

The opening act is fine. Not my favorite, the spiciness of the peppercorn doesn’t really do it for me. Though, I like it more once we’ve really gotten more orange flower and leather in the mix. I really dig the solar and burnt quality to this, as the sort of inverse to Soleil Neige (which I like better).

Burnt or crispy honey actually is very pleasant and nice change of pace from the overly sweet versions, I keep encountering.

Is it worth a buy? This is one of the super expensive releases from Tom Ford. For most people, it’s not going to be a must have. Soleil Brulant is a perfume that I’d try to test out before committing to a full bottle.

For a percentage of people, this will be right up their alley. For the masses? Not really. Before dropping $300-400, find a way to give it a try over the span of a few days, to see if you take to it. An interesting scent for sure, just not one that’s going to be the favorite of many.

I don’t think it’s better than any of the other Soleil perfumes. It’s not much worse, but those others will probably appeal to more folks.

9 Best Smelling Jo Malone Perfumes

The Jo Malone line of fragrances have been popular now for a few decades. What’s really cool about them, is how they can be combined with one another to create one’s own signature scent and enhance each separate cologne, which can be worn by itself. There are a ton of these fragrances in this line.

So, I thought that I’d narrow the field down to nine which could be considered the ‘best’ of the bunch. Some will be known best-sellers and others lesser known gems. As always, I have linked each out to its page on Amazon for more information and ease of purchase.

What are Best Jo Malone Scents?

Great Springtime Casual Fragrance

1. English Pear & Freesia Jo Malone 3.4 Oz Unisex Cologne UnboxJuicy and crisp pear meets with freesia and rose notes to create a wonderful blend of floral and fruit. It’s sweet, light, and good for casual wear.

It has that crisp juiciness that is found in pear, but this scent is also blended with a melon note, which gives it a slightly chilled aroma.

Further along in the wear, the floral notes get more of an upper hand, and the freesia/rose duo bring a somewhat soapy smell to the whole thing.

It is interesting, because you don’t get the powdery rose. Instead, it is an super clean pear/melon with soft freesia. This Jo Malone is simple, but always one of the best sellers. English Pear & Freesia Review

Top Perfume for Summer

2. Jo Malone Orange Blossom Cologne for Women 1 oz Cologne SprayA soft citrus based scent with floral notes that is upbeat and sure to induce a smile. A very clean scent that shines in the summer.

The clementine and citron opening at the top, is sweet and much more of a fruity affair than what will follow. The dry down, is when you really get the floral notes, mostly the namesake orange blossom.

Add in some lilac and you get a definite springtime in bloom effect. Citrus fruit top with a naturalistic floral blossom base. I love orange blossom, as a note, and it is utterly fantastic here. Those petals paired with a citron aroma, makes this a personal favorite of mine from Jo Malone London.

Best Winter Scent

3. Jo Malone Blue Agave & Cacao Cologne for Women 1 oz Cologne SprayThis combination is very interesting to me. It’s spicy cinnamon melds with vanilla and chocolate sweetness. Plus, add an underlying citrus air, and you’ve got something quite delicious.

The opening gives you a blend of the chocolate-y note with warm cardamom spice and the cinnamon. The spice isn’t too intense, but does add to the gourmand flavoring of this perfume, it’s a sweet spicy mix.

Under that there is a bit of vetiver, with orchid, lily, and the blue agave. Awesome and unique. Blue Agave & Cacao hits so many different styles, in one fragrance. You’ve got: sweet gourmand, citrus, floral, fresh woodsy. This is one to get, if you want a layered experience, for the cooler months of the year.

Top Sweet Perfume

4. Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom & Honey Cologne 100ml/3.4 Fl oz.A potent experience of being surrounded by nectarines and peaches.  Very simple and linear but has a definite sweetness to it. The plum note is light, but does add a bit of tartness to the overall sweet profile of this fragrance.

This is one, where you will have to really enjoy the scent of peaches and nectarines, but those who do well probably love the stuff. Expect a more naturalistic sweetness, rather than, a hyper sugary affair. It’s still light, has some tartness, and a somewhat syrup-like thickness at times.

Best Selling Fragrance and Aquatic

5. Jo Malone ‘Wood Sage & Sea Salt Colonge 30ml/1fl oz’A coastal aroma that will transport the wearer to the shore. Sea salt is infused with wood sage and a bit of citrus to create a unique fragrance, that you can’t quite put your finger on, at times.

The opening is quite oceanic with the sea salt, but is given a typical aquatic partner, with the grapefruit. It is so fresh and aquatic, but dries down with a bit of sweetness, and light woody undertones. Let’s not forget the sage, which is a part of the opening, but comes into its own later.

Wood Sage & Sea Salt has been the most popular option for people, coming to the Jo Malone lineup. It’s so simple, but surprisingly good, and one that can be layered with other scents for a greater effect. Though, even on its own, this is a great aquatic experience.

Best Floral Pick

6. Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede Cologne Spray PerfumeThere is a great opening with the apple note which then takes the back seat for the flowery aroma to take center stage. Very soft and feminine with a nice touch of suede.

The dry down becomes quite a powdery floral affair, especially once the apple fades. The peony and rose team up to create that powdered effect, which is smoothed out by an enhanced suede note. It is a rather powerful peony note, so, if that’s not a flower you enjoy go with another option.

Awesome Jasmine Perfume

7. JO MALONE LONDON Jasmine Sambac & Marigold Cologne Intense 100 ml.– This is a warm blend of the two obvious notes, jasmine and marigold, along with an additional ylang-ylang to complete the bouquet. Although, that note isn’t nearly as strong as the other two.

The marigold is strongest in the beginning of the wear and the jasmine will emerge to take over the composition. It is a very powerful use of that note, with a deep and rich aroma. Beyond that, the ylang-ylang and honey note gives Jasmine Sambac & Marigold, a creaminess while not being too heavy.

Probably not quite a summer scent, but it could get use through at least late springtime.

Balsamic Tonka

Myrrh & Tonka by Jo Malone– A spicy and balsamic myrrh starts things off with a lovely fresh lavender note. Obviously, the tonka bean will come into play as well, but that myrrh has the upper hand early on.

Next, this one will get creamier, somewhat sweet but not overly so, as that tonka gets paired with vanilla. It does have an herbal quality, at times which gives it a cooler feeling to keep this from becoming overly heavy and too warm. Sort of powdery too.

This has become a very popular entry in the Jo Malone catalog. Slightly masculine with how the perfume comes across, yet still very much in the unisex camp.

Red Queen

Scarlet Poppy by Jo Malone– Fig, poppy, heliotrope, barley, and musk mallow together create a familiar smelling yet unique combination.

Creamy, musky clean, with a nice sweetness almost almond like aroma. Fig and tonka bean together, seem to be the main culprits for that aspect. Scarlet Poppy is a newer entry on this list compared to others, but has quickly become a favorite.

This one really gets creamy and luxurious feeling in the back half of the wear. The heliotrope isn’t massive, but that note really stuck out to my nose in the dry down. Simple, a bit of powder with the buttery orris root.

Sweet and warm while not being overwhelming. Light and venturing into the gourmand category. I like this one a lot.

14 Great Perfumes Like Delina (or Exclusif)

Delina is a very popular fragrance from Parfums de Marly. It’s blend of rose, lychee, rhubarb, and more are a sweet and powdery take on the classic rose perfume. PdM is a higher quality niche brand and their prices match, which can scare some people off.

As such, it can be worthwhile to find something that smells like Delina and/or Delina Exclusif without breaking the bank. Or, maybe you want something similar that’s not exactly the same. On this page, I am going to keep an ongoing list of scents that can provide alternatives that can almost duplicate the experience.

Perfume Alternatives that Smell Similar to Delina

Fruitier with a Similar Style

Very Good Girl 30 ml Eau de Parfum, 1 fl oz– This flanker to Carolina Herrera’s Good Girl, does have quite a lot of overlap with Delina, and is a good option for those who want something similar.

Litchi, rose, vetiver, and vanilla are notes that are shared by both of these perfumes. But, Very Good Girl isn’t an exact match, just closely related.

It opens up with a fruitier aroma that has an added tartness added by red currant. On the whole, Very Good Girl is fruitier and the rose is less prominent than in the Parfums de Marly scent.

The litchi and rose will take over the composition and the vanilla will serve a minor role. It’s somewhat powdery, less so than our target, and has a lighter freshness to it. I got about 7 hours of wear from this fragrance when I tested it out.

It’s a cheaper alternative, that still provides a designer level experience. Very Good Girl Review

Arabian Rose

Rose 01 by Swiss Arabian–  Rose 01 is a very nice and less expensive alternative to the original Delina. The opening with the lychee, citrus, and pink pepper can be sharp (even more than Delina), but it will settle down to more sweetness, rose, and a tad creamy.

Up top, though, it is a sharp tartness…but very rich, also. I think it is interesting, almost like a different take on Angel Nova.  The musk actually comes in with the rose, peony, and vanilla notes to calm the intensity.

The main difference between Rose 01 and our target is the lack of rhubarb. Not a big deal and might even be preferable to some. The muskiness is elevated here, the performance is good, and the price is right in comparison.

Dua Exclusif Inspiration

Miss Congeniality by The Dua Brand– Dua has a whole host of their ‘inspired’ fragrances, based on popular perfume formulas. Miss Congeniality is the one that does a great impression of Delina Exclusif.

I also like, Adeline by Fragrenza (listed below), and both of these scents strike very close to what you get with the Parfums de Marly.

The opening with the pear, lychee, and citrus hits the mark very well. I think that the Fragrenza version might be a tad more powerful, but the Dua is no slouch either. Plus, the pear itself is fantastic in this blend.

Another Inspired by Option

Duchess by ALT Fragrances– If you’re looking for a cheaper option with an aroma near that of Delina, Duchess from ALT fragrances is going to possibly be one of your best bets. ALT has its series of perfumes that are ‘inspired by’ the best sellers, with Duchess being the ringer for Delina.

Lychee, rhubarb, and rose providing that same sort of blend as the expensive PdM. Fresh, sweet, and a lovely rose. As close as you’re going to get, outside of picking up the real thing.

Exclusif Aroma

Adeline by Fragrenza– This is a sample that I picked up recently, which smells more like Delina Exclusif, rather than the original. But, it is actually really close to being identical in terms of smell, and matches its performance too.

Seriously, Adeline is powerful stuff. I sprayed some on a shirt laying in my bedroom and could smell it in the next room, for the opening act. So, not too many sprays needed with this one.

The lychee, the rose, and that rhubarb up top are all here. Adeline does a great job at being similar to the development and layers of Exclusif and does so at a fraction of the price.

Rose Inspired

Madame Rose by Oakcha– Oakcha is another brand that is doing some inspired takes on popular niche and designer fragrances. Madame Rose is their version of the Delina formula.

Now, I haven’t tried this one out as of yet. I will update if I do in the future. But, I’ll add it to the list for those who want to try Madame Rose out.

I’ve heard good things about this brand and this Delina inspired scent has a ton of positive reviews about it. So, it’s probably a good option for currently $30-45 per bottle, depending on the size you choose.

Imperiale

Club de Nuit Imperiale by Armaf– This one is interesting. It is very similar to Delina, while at the same time, has enough difference to make Imperiale its own thing.

Mainly, the powdery aspect in the dry down is more intense in this than in the Parfums de Marly best seller. But, also this has a creaminess that tends to separate this Armaf perfume even further.

Imperiale is an affordable fragrance with a massive performance. So, if you like the style here, you’ll get your money’s worth. More like a mix between Delina, Delina Exclusif, and it’s own blend.

A familiar start then getting into a rose, vanilla, amber blend with the remaining litchi providing the fruitiness. The opening is probably not as good as Delina, but the back half makes up for it.

Lady Rose

Lady Diana by Alexandria Fragrances– Another inspired creation that I haven’t tried, but I’m more familiar with this brand, and they’ve produced lots of great stuff in the past.

Their version is called Lady Diana, and while still being cheaper than the PdM perfume, this is a higher price when compared to the other scents seeking to mimic our target scent.

Rhubarb, peony, nutmeg, vanilla, rose, litchi…all of the ingredients are there to strike up a close comparison and I highly doubt that it’s very far off.

La Rosee Possibilities

Aqua Allegoria Forte Rosa Rossa by Guerlain– With the Delina La Rosse now becoming a pretty popular fragrance, I thought that I’d add some alternatives to it.

Forte Rosa is apart of the Aqua Allegoria collection by Guerlain. Aside from having an extremely long name, it has a very similar, yet distinct aroma from that of La Rosee.

The PdM fragrane has that fresh watery note, along with a sparkling pear, which only adds to that quality. The Guerlain comes out with a peach note and some cassis.

La Rossee and Forte Rosa are lighter and less overwhelming rose options for the summer. Again, not entirely the same, but they do hit a very similar chord overall.

Delina La Rosee with More Florals

Chloe Eau de Parfum– Delina La Rosee does end up smelling quite a bit like this best selling Chloe fragrance.

It’s no surprise when you share lychee, rose, and peony as main notes. Chloe and Delina La Rosee both have an aquatic sort of finish to them, but with the Chloe, it comes from the use of freesia and lily. Less of a pure water and more of a dewy floral sensation.

A very clean rose and peony blend is the dominant force here, it also doesn’t have that same massive fruitiness that some of the Delina scents do. Easy to wear, classic, with a powdery aroma playing off of the dewy lightness.

Not Exactly, but in the Same Vein

Rose Extase by Nina Ricci- Pink rose, red berries, and vanilla. This Nina Ricci perfume is pretty affordable and hits a lot of the same chords as our target does. But, they don’t smell exactly the same. 60-70%? Perhaps.

The opening is a mix of being super sweet and actually fairly tart. The raspberry and red berry blend, do come on strong. But, it settles, you get more rose, vanilla, and musk. At times, it feels creamier. Then, you get bouts of powder.

Clean and pretty easy to wear once it settles. Not nearly as high as quality as the Parfums de Marly. It just gives you another option to consider, a decent price, and solid overall performance.

Focused Rose and Vanilla Exclusif

Atomic Rose by Initio– If you want something closer to Delina Exclusif, but without all of the sharper fruity notes, Atomic Rose can be a good choice.

This one does have light citrus note (same bergamot), but that litchi and pear aren’t present, which allow for a more focused concentration on the rose and creamy vanilla.  With a pretty strong pink pepper, early on at least.

Though, Atomic doesn’t give you a price break and can actually sell for more than the PdM perfume that it resembles. The performance, however, is outstanding.

You still get some great sweetness here, along with a developed jasmine note, and the wonderful amber without the underlying oud or other woody-like notes.

Raspberry Lychee Rose

Angel Nova EDP by Mugler– Now, I’ve only tried Nova EDP, as of now. However, the EDT version is supposed to have a greater use of the rose note and be a closer comp to Delina. So, you might want to check that one out.

Either way, Nova EDP has a similar style and construction, without being the same. This one takes the fruitiness early on to another level. The lychee is the same, but Nova adds a very sweet and juicy raspberry note.

Actually, to my nose there also smells as if there might be a mango in the mix. Nova has vaguely tropical smells, early on.

The fruitiness will settle and reveal the Damask rose note. There’s some spice, earthiness, and a resinous quality during the dry down. Patchouli and benzoin.

Very strong sillage early on, that will settle into something moderate. But, I got about 9 hours of wear from Nova EDP. It isn’t an inspired by rendition of Delina, but it’s got enough overlap to bear a resemblance. Nova EDP Review

Another Option

Delilah by Maison Alhambra– Delilah is another inspired by Delina fragrance, that seems to have a good reputation of coming pretty darn close to the original for cheap. If even comes in a similar looking bottle.

Now, I haven’t actually tried this one out, but I figured that I should include it for those who want a less expensive alternative perfume. It seems to sell for around $45, with positive reviews about its resemblance to our target.

I’m not familiar with the Alhambra brand, so I can’t actually speak to its quality. Nevertheless, there it is for those who want to try.
